Katrina's life long fascination with horses has been a consuming addiction fuelled by their size, toughness, teachability, beauty, movement and strength of character. Her eldest son was riding before he could walk and many family adventures put horses forefront and centre. Both her sons became very competent, riders who have taken the knowledge and teachings of their horses, into their adult relationships and careers.
Katrina's second 'vice' was art and as such she completed a Masters of Contemporary Art and had many years as a drawing and design teacher for TAFE. As luck would have it a change in politics forced a change of direction and while sweating under a Shetland Pony, as she trimmed its hooves, the owner asked if she had ever looked into Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

One thing lead to another and Katrina spent the next 9 years working as a Student Networker for the Dep't of Education facilitating Art & Music Therapy, Outdoor Adventure Therapy and The Eagala Model Equine Therapy. This was a dream job for Katrina but ultimately she made the decision to leave the Dep't in June 2018 to start her own business so that the benefits of Equine Therapy could be accessed by a larger demographic.

Katrina is now dedicated to pursuing the Equine Program full-time so that individual clients, agencies and schools can optimise the emotional wellness inherent when working with these amazing animals in The Eagala Model, solution based framework and Katrina's own program EASD, Equine Assisted Skills Development.
